Corinna – Assistant Explorer Scout Leader
Corinna is an enthusiastic and driven leader. She is a great role model and inspiring character. Corinna is passionate about the outdoors and wants to inspire this in the young people she volunteers with too. She is currently training with Ten Tors leaders, aspiring to be a Hill and Moorland Leader to assist with her scouting role.
Corinna enjoys keeping active and is 27 marathons in to joining the 100 marathon club.
Lewis – Assistant Explorer Scout Leader
As a keen adventurer Lewis brings a wealth of experience to our unit. Lewis attributes his achievements to Scouting! He’s completed 4 summers as KISC, the world Kandersteg International Scout Centre – the world’s permanent mini jamboree. He’s been to Jersey,France, Vietnam and Namibia with scouts!
Amy – Assistant Explorer Scout Leader
Amy was a Brownie and then a Guide before becoming a Venture Scout at Warley VSU in Essex. She became a Young Leader during her Venture years and then an Explorer Scout Leader at Warley ESU after university. After moving to Devon in 2012 she joined 3rd Exmouth Scouts as an Assistant to Iain before joining Exbud Explorers. She returned to Exbud Explorers in 2019 after a break to have a baby. Her scouting highlight was meeting Bear Grylls on a camp.
When not scouting Amy is PA to a tiny dictator (her daughter) and loves lazy beach days with her family.
Howard – Assistant Explorer Scout Leader
Howard is a local scouting legend, a longtime leader at 5th Exmouth. We are delighted he’s agreed to be an AESL at Exbud Explorers too.
Howard was a Cub, a Scout and a Venture Scout at 5th Exmouth Sea Scouts and became a Venture Leader straight after university. He then became a Sea Scout Leader and remains at 5th Exmouth. He helps to run Ten Tor’s for Scouts and Explorers locally.
When not scouting Howard can be found either on his bike or halfway up a mountain.
Karen – Assistant Explorer Scout Leader
Karen became a Beaver leader when her sons joined, 10 years ago, she is now an assistant Explorer Scout Leader.
She has trained guide dogs for many years. She loves being outdoors!
Kate – Assistant Explorer Scout Leader
Kate became very involved with scouts when her sons joined and she became an executive committee fundraiser for 5th Exmouth Sea Scouts in 2004. Kate joined Explorer Scouts as an assistant leader in 2015, she then moved to 5th Exmouth Sea Scouts, and now helps at both.
Kate’s day job is walking and caring for dogs and she has a couple of her own too. She loves walking in forests and is a keen litter picker!
ExBud also has a wealth of experienced Scout Leaders such as Sam Kelly and Gavin Gorman who devote time to our unit.
