25 Explorer Scouts and Leaders undertook a 3 week expedition to Vietnam in July 2015, the trip booked with Schools Worldwide saw us undertake a construction project in a local community before heading out to explore the country by train, travelling North to South.
We’ve already posted some photos with more to follow over the coming weeks we will also me uploading a video along with the camp diary, in the meantime why not take a look at our itinerary.
Days 1-2: Fly to Hanoi and spend a day exploring the city and our first taste of Vietnamese life.
Days 3-4: Leaving Hanoi we head to the Sapa Valley and start a 2 day trek.
Days 5-10: We will be staying with a local community and be taking part in a construction project.
Days 11-12: Leaving the local community and saying goodbye to new friends we head to Ha Long bay for some well earned rest and relaxation before our exploration of Vietnam begins.
Days 13-16: Heading South on the Reunification Express to Hoi An, we stop off in Dong Ha and visit the DMZ to learn more about the war.
Days 17-18: Onwards to Ho Chi Minh with chance to stop at the beach and visit some local islands.
Days 19-22: Time to explore Ho Chi Minh and buy some souvenirs before flying back to the UK but before we do there’s time for a quick visit to the Mekong River!
